Blog Carousel #3 – “Framed”

June 5, 2011

Welcome to my Pro Photographers’ Blog Carousel #3!
As a reminder, I am participating with my group of amazing child portrait photographer friends to bring you a revolving “Blog Carousel” – where we pick a theme, interpret it through our cameras, and post the results on our blog. One links to the next, so that you are taken on a “carousel” of beautiful work by some of the top names in the biz.

Our theme this time is “FRAMED”.

I took this photo on our annual Memorial Day trip to visit friends in upstate New York. We have fun digging for treasure in the old store rooms and attic, and these frames were perfect for this challenge. Enjoy! (Below my photo, you will find a link to Samara Hutcheson’s beautiful blog, and her fabulous contribution) – be sure to continue the journey!

Corey Sewell: That is too cute!

marmalade: ADORABLE! The framed kids look like they are being framed (in the set up sense, not in the literal sense!)

dawn sela: great interpretation! Also screams SUMMER...bare feet, grass, peeling paint barn wall! perfect!

dena robles: Okay, this has to be HUGE, as in beyond lifesize HUGE, on somebody's wall. What a fun, playful and unique way to get all the kids together!

Brandy Anderson: Great idea - I love how you were able to get so many children into one image!

lisa m: How cute is this!?! I love the vintage frames...and how the boys are trying to wrangle the girls in. So perfect!

Rebecca Mudrick: So so so adorable and perfect for the theme this month. Love the color too!

Mary Beth: So cute! All their different expressions and moods are unique and fun - love that you captured them that way.

Julie: i love this! What a fun idea for a cousins portrait!

Danna: hahaha love it!

TaraMc: Love the literal interpretation of the theme here. Such a fun image.

amanda padgham: Oh my gosh- this is incredible! I love everything about this- the colors, the grouping, the creativity! Awesome!

Je Neuhaus: Not only is this an adorably cute take on the theme "framed", what a creative way to help corral those energetic kids for portraits!

Samara: So so sad I missed you guys this year. This is amazing!!

Heather Rivlin: I love this. Not only does it play on the literal "framed" having them in frames, but the frames reminded me of those old pillory stocks they used to use on those who'd been convicted....or perhaps FRAMED! :)

Jim Davis: Great use of FRAMED theme. Great Color.
