Twenty Years In the Making

October 10, 2011

This was yet another wedding where I genuinely wished that I was attending as a guest – that is how much fun their reception was, and how nice and friendly all of their friends and families were! This couple was finally able to tie the knot in DC after more than twenty years together. My favorite touch at their reception, which took place in a gallery space, was the row of framed photos of the two of them, going back to the early years of their relationship. Such a great idea, and perfect for the space! It was also wonderful having my old right hand back to do my closeup shots… many thanks to my former intern for coming home for the weekend to help me out!!
The weather was so perfect it was like it was custom-ordered, and everything truly went like clockwork. Thanks, guys, for such a great evening – enjoy the preview while I work on the rest of your gallery!

Special Connections

October 1, 2011

We all have people who come into our lives at different times, for different reasons, who become like family to us. This group shares a special connection to me, through special friends who are like family to both them and me. I have so loved watching this little one grow up through our mutual friends, and I am so glad that we have a connection in common. This session took over a year to finally come to fruition, and nearly didn’t happen – but what should have been a rain-out actually resulted in gorgeous even lighting. Thanks for being such good sports about the weather – I am so glad we went ahead with this and didn’t postpone!

Repeat, repeat, repeat!

September 28, 2011

Yay! I LOVE repeat clients – I think this makes 4 years that I have been photographing Miss Z and her little brother and sister. They are the SWEETEST things – always running with hugs. I could just eat them up! And mom has THE best taste in portrait clothing. I always love seeing what they are going to wear.
Enjoy the preview!!!

It’s a Small World

September 25, 2011

This family came to me with a solid idea of what they wanted to capture in their session. I have to thank the oldest boy for being such a good sport about coming home from school, and give kudos to the other kids for making this a really easy, fun shoot.
With a bit of conversation, we found we had three connections in common – none of them related to the other. It’s a small world, sometimes!
Without further ado, here is a preview of the session – enjoy!

A Very DC Wedding

September 18, 2011

This had to be, hands-down, one of the most fabulous weddings I have ever attended – as a guest OR photographer! From the decor to the dress to the details – it was all just magical. Combine that with the greatest bunch of people to work with, and you have a wedding that is just about perfect. The clouds parted just in time for the rooftop ceremony, and the Capitol dome lit up like gold in the background – Oh what a night!!

Family First

August 17, 2011

I have had the good fortune to photograph this family in the past, but this is the first time meeting the grandparents. The goal of the session was primarily to get a great shot of the grandparents and their four grandsons, which I believe we achieved – and I think we got some other fun stuff in the process! Enjoy the preview, guys, your gallery is coming…

Hello folks, and welcome to another exciting edition of our Pro Photographer’s Blog Carousel! If you aren’t familiar with this concept, this is where my pro photographer friends (some of the best in the world, if I may say so myself!) and I get together and come up with a theme, and post our own interpretation of that theme on our blogs. Then – and this is the fun part – we each link to another blog, so that you can travel around the “Carousel” of theme interpretations. It’s a great way to spend some quality internet time! So without further ado, here is the image I went to for this edition’s theme – “Love and Passion”:

Sweet Baby A

August 10, 2011

This is one of those sessions that is a follow-on to a follow-on to a follow-on, and it’s what makes this job so much fun. This mom was my son’s 2nd grade teacher. I knew her before she was married, and did her engagement photos, her wedding day prep photos, her maternity photos, and now…
TA-DA!!!
Beautiful Baby A is here!
Enjoy guys, I will have your gallery done soon – just couldn’t wait to show these off.
