Hello Again!

October 24, 2011

Once again, wonderful repeat clients, this time with a new baby! I loved seeing them again – it’s so much fun watching babies grow up into big siblings! I also have to thank them for showing me a beautiful new location for my DC people.
Thanks for a wonderful session – enjoy the preview!

New to Me…

October 23, 2011

These are clients who were new to me, but not totally new to my work – they are a referral from another wonderful client whom I have enjoyed getting to know through the years! Their little guy was ADORABLE, and I am so glad we finally got this session scheduled and shot, without any more weather issues!
Enjoy your preview, gallery is coming!

Number Two

October 19, 2011

Love families that come to me and stay… I’ve been photographing their Baby #1 since he was 3 months old, and now it’s time to start with his little sister! You’ve never seen a prettier baby (really!) and I just adore this big brother. Here’s a quick preview, while I work on the rest of the gallery images.
Thanks you guys, for another great session!

Round and round and round it goes…once again, it’s time for our Pro Photographer’s Blog Carousel! If you aren’t familiar with this concept, this is where my pro photographer friends (some of the best in the world, if I may say so myself!) and I get together and come up with a theme, and post our own interpretation of that theme on our blogs. Then – and this is the fun part – we each link to another blog, so that you can travel around the “Carousel” of theme interpretations. It’s a great way to spend some quality internet time! This edition’s theme is “Yellow”. Since I spent the day yesterday touring the beautiful Virginia wine country for a friend’s birthday, I thought it would be a great opportunity to shoot something new to go with the theme. As luck would have it, there was lots of “yellow” – from the white wine on the table, to the changing leaves, to the yellowish field grass… Take a look, and then move on to the next amazing blogger’s interpretation!

Twenty Years In the Making

October 10, 2011

This was yet another wedding where I genuinely wished that I was attending as a guest – that is how much fun their reception was, and how nice and friendly all of their friends and families were! This couple was finally able to tie the knot in DC after more than twenty years together. My favorite touch at their reception, which took place in a gallery space, was the row of framed photos of the two of them, going back to the early years of their relationship. Such a great idea, and perfect for the space! It was also wonderful having my old right hand back to do my closeup shots… many thanks to my former intern for coming home for the weekend to help me out!!
The weather was so perfect it was like it was custom-ordered, and everything truly went like clockwork. Thanks, guys, for such a great evening – enjoy the preview while I work on the rest of your gallery!

Special Connections

October 1, 2011

We all have people who come into our lives at different times, for different reasons, who become like family to us. This group shares a special connection to me, through special friends who are like family to both them and me. I have so loved watching this little one grow up through our mutual friends, and I am so glad that we have a connection in common. This session took over a year to finally come to fruition, and nearly didn’t happen – but what should have been a rain-out actually resulted in gorgeous even lighting. Thanks for being such good sports about the weather – I am so glad we went ahead with this and didn’t postpone!
