Angels

July 23, 2010

If ever a title fit a session, this one does. What angels these little girls were! This was literally the calmest baby I have ever photographed, and what a doll of a big sister! Thanks to mom and dad for being so relaxed and easy to work with. What a great session we had! Enjoy the preview:

Tiny

July 6, 2010

I love teeny little newborns. This little guy was still under 6 pounds and gave us such an easy time with his first photo session. :-)

Thanks to mom, dad, and grandma for a very relaxed shoot – congrats again, and enjoy your preview!

SO Smiley!

June 30, 2010

It’s so great when a session just goes like clockwork – and this was one of those sessions.

Throw in the fact that this little kiddo is the grandson of  a friend, and it’s all the better…

What a smiley little guy – a perfect session!
Thanks, guys – here is your preview -

This was a great repeat session with a family whose little boy I photographed as a newborn. Now he is the big brother, and a very proud one, at that! Love shooting in this home, such pretty light! Here’s a quick peek while I finish up the gallery – thanks, guys!!

Feels Like Summer

May 22, 2010

Even though this is a location that I use very often, there was a change in the “feel” of the place since last week. It felt like summer. All the leaves are fully on the trees, the grass is just at that perfect long lush pre-dried-out stage, and the days are finally REALLY getting long. This was a great session, the only drawback being that the little guy was a prime target for the gnats… don’t know why they loved him so much – he must just have been sweeter than the rest of us!
Quick preview now, as I finish up the gallery over the next couple of days. Enjoy!

Cynthia McIntyre: Nice job with posing-you very effectively captured the relationship between the members of the family!

Family Celebration

May 22, 2010

This was such a happy session. This extended family had gathered to celebrate a former Flashes of Hope participant who is now beating cancer!

So – 31 people, including tons of kids, a dog or two, party remnants including tons of gorgeous flower bouquets = a happy session on a beautiful property with a joyful family. What could be better! Enjoy the preview, the gallery is coming soon.

New Home

May 14, 2010

Another session with clients who have been with me since very early on. Did I already mention that the best part of this job is getting to know my clients and follow their kids as they grow? Although we have had many sessions over the past few years, this is the first in their beautiful new  home. I was lucky enough to get to photograph the extended family for the second time, and loved seeing their cute little cousin again, too! Thanks for another great time, guys.

Gallery coming soon… here is your preview:

Sisters and Swings

May 4, 2010

These clients are some of my most special.  They have been with me since their oldest was a newborn, and I have now photographed baby sister a few times as well. This session was a blast. Miss A cracked us all up with her “joke” songs, and little sister is the most delicate little flower of a thing you could ever hope to see, and we got a great “first steps” shot! These girls and their family are just so precious – I am so thankful for clients that stay with me through the years so that I can watch and record the kids as they grow!

The Golden Hour

May 4, 2010

If you have worked with me in the summer months, you will know that I often recommend that clients book their sessions in what I call the Golden Hour – that hour just before sunset when everything turns golden and hazy. Sometimes it is difficult to schedule around dinner, and bath, and wind-down time – but in the end, it’s SO worth it.

If you are on the fence about an evening session, this is why I really encourage everyone to consider it:

Growing Up, DC-Style

April 25, 2010

Those that know me know that I LOVE my city. I only wish I had taken the time to appreciate it more when I was younger!  I am always thrilled when high school students choose to do their senior portraits in the District. We had to battle the wind a bit for this session, but the light was beautiful and the final result was great. Nothing better than a job where you spend your time walking the reflecting pool between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial! Enjoy the preview, the gallery will be done soon!
