It’s been a whirlwind of a spring – portrait work in and out of town, an event here, an event there, a couple of weddings… you get the picture. So in the interest of catching up far better than I would if I tried to blog everything separately, I offer you a sampling of my latest sessions. Enjoy!

I am so happy to show off the beautiful families that came out for my first round of Richmond family photography minisessions! I will be back in Richmond before too long, and look forward to developing an on-going relationship with these families! Enjoy! And thanks to Mom’s Treehouse for so generously hosting me!

As if you can’t tell just by glancing at them, this was a sibling session. It was also the second time I have had grown kids plan a portrait session as a surprise for their parents… I love it! I wish more kids would think to do this – what a great surprise this will be for their mom!!

That’s right – seven kiddos – and I have to say, it was NOT HARD! They were so amazingly friendly, sweet, and well-behaved that this shoot was actually a breeze. I was so happy to see them, and so happy to photograph them. Since they were in from out of town, it was really lucky that the storms that were threatening ended up skirting away from us. Enjoy your preview – I am enjoying proofing them!

This family has been with me since close to the beginning – I started photographing them when the youngest, now 6, was just a baby!
It’s always fun to see them, and can’t wait to get together for our spring shoot. In the meantime, here is a fun preview – enjoy!!

I had the idea that in 2012, I would introduce a little feature called “Photo Freebies”. Once a week, I will post a little free action or template that you can feel free to download and play with at home. Nothing I post here will be a “quick fix” for images that come out of the camera with technical flaws, but they are some nice little processing goodies that can add some polish to an already-nice image. This week, I will kick it off with a basic color action for Photoshop. Download, give it a shot, and let me know what you think.

This year, I took some sessions in the week between Christmas and New Years – and ended up with a blog full of fun stuff to post! This family came as a referral from a favorite client, and I am excited to share their preview here. Thanks, guys – gallery will be ready asap!

This week has seen repeat sessions for two families with newborns – one boy, one girl. I can’t say it enough – it’s just the best thing in the world to be able to watch families grow, and see the kids grow up! This little one is probably the BEST talker I have ever seen for her age. Amazing!!

So happy to have my first session back at my favorite location – I missed it so! Amazing family, so easy to work with – I love this job!

This another case of newborn-client-turned-big sister-client. It’s always so great to see past clients grow up and have new babies join the family photographs! And this one is always so special, with their giGANtic protective doggy. Thanks for being so patient today, guys – I know it took a long time!
